Easy Ways To Reduce The Cost of Laundry Soap

If you do not use these three ways of saving the money to reduce your laudry soap cost, then you are washing money down the drain. In the modern society, we use soaps to keep our clothes clean and also for good smelling. When it comes to laundry detergent, we are paying plenty for a never-ending cascade of hyperbole. The latest twist is to sell us less product at a higher price with “ultra-new” concentrated detergents.

There is a secret behind this in which every salesman don’t want you to know. Some people get good results with no detergent at all. Others save 90 percent of the cost of store-bought detergent by making their own. The clothing has been around in form for hundreds of thousands of years. But the laundry is new to us. The ancient people will be able to clean their clothes.

As it turns out, the main ingredient other than water is agitation. Ancient people used rocks and rivers, but our modern washing machine can clean lightly soiled clothes by just pushing them around in water. That means your clothes can be cleaned without detergent  at all. But if the idea of using nothing more than water to wash your gym socks sounds a little scuzzy, make your own detergent.

Follow these steps to make your own detergent:

First you will need these ingredients that works pretty well.

  1. 4 cups of water
  2. 1/3 bar of cheap soap, grated
  3. 1/2 cup washing soda (not baking soda)
  4. 1/2 cup of Borax (20 Mule Team)
  5. 5-gallon bucket for mixing
  6. 3 gallons of water

And then the directions are:

  1. Mix the grated soap in a saucepan with 4 cups of water, and heat on low until the soap is completely dissolved.
  2. Add hot water/soap mixture to 3 gallons of water in the 5 gallon bucket, stir in the washing soda and Borax, and continue stirring until thickened.
  3. Let the mix sit for 24 hours, and voila! — homemade laundry detergent.

By using homemade laundry soap, you can save your money.
